Hazlemere Memorial Hall was built by the Parish Council as a sports pavilion and facility for the whole community. It is currently run by Hazlemere Memorial Hall Charitable Incorporate Organisation (CIO).
The hall is now used as a nursery school and also has rooms available all week for groups and private individuals to hire.
The profits from the commercial activity are used to support groups and individuals in Hazlemere.
Details of our constitution and accounts are shown on the Governance Page
The most important part of the Constitution are the Objectives. This paragraph states:
“The objects of the CIO are:
- the provision and maintenance of a community centre for the use of the inhabitants of Hazlemere and the surrounding areas, including use for meetings, lectures, classes and other forms of recreation and leisure-time occupation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the inhabitants;
- the provision of grants and funding to organisations and for projects which make an application to the CIO and which will apply the funds for exclusively charitable purposes in a way that benefits the community of Hazlemere and improves the conditions of life for its inhabitants; and
Nothing in this constitution shall authorise an application of the property of the CIO for the purposes which are not charitable.”
